Visible Learning
Music and Feelings
Teamed up with B.Ed. classmates to design, improve, and implement an activity station on feelings, expression, and music. I programmed the application on Scratch with Leanna Azaard who composed piano tracks and Julie Rancourt who led on the format delivery. Multiple ways to engage at various grade levels.

Writer's Checklist
Visible learning is all about working alongside students and getting feedback from each other. One example is that I worked with my junior students to create a checklist for independent revision. Most current version includes this checklist.

Stickies
Talking less as we discover and learn together as a group. Worked with Grade 2 students to examine feature of how-to texts and write what we discovered as we mined through dozens of procedural texts.

Non-Permenant Vertical Surfaces (VNPSs)
My mentor introduced the concept of NPVS in my first practicum that I now incorporate in my classroom. A great strategy to move around, to work in groups, to assess for learning, and to spiral content. (OCDSB, 2021)
Mistakes in the classroom
Working with students to build a classroom where mistakes are expected, respected, inspected, and corrected. This has become a motto for me as I became a teacher and a go-to mantra for my students. (2021-present)
Teaching and Reflecting
Visible learning includes reflecting on our teaching as being one of the biggest change factors in the classroom. Teacher Candidates and I took turns leading workshops and then reflected on how we facilitated them.
